Katmai Coast September Highlights Part 1- People and Bears

It was an amazing September on the Katmai Coast. All the expeditions I guided for Natural Habitat Adventures were a big success and the travelers all left very happy. In this post I will share one of my favorite things to photograph while leading trips- happy people.

I started taking these types of shots several years ago, to capture the thrill photographers get when they capture a great shot of a bear. This is traveler Ron Brown Brown from Wisconsin.

I was so excited to spend some Katmai bear time with long time Natural Habitat Office Manager, who I have worked with for years, Amanda (Mandy) Scott. I love to bond with the office staff in my “office.”

Claire Vossler, who has loved bears her whole life, came to Katmai with her family. She aspires for a career in Environmental Conservation. I loved to show her the incredible Katmai Coast ecosystem! I told her she should be a nathab guide.
