Another awesome trip in Churchill! We did very well with bears as usual, but also with red and arctic fox, and even a snowy owl. We spent a bit of time with dog musher Kelly Turcotte, and his exceptionally photogenic huskies. Amazingly, there still isnt much snow on the ground, but it should fall any day. The colors of the tundra and rocks are so stunning, however, noone seems to mind- not even the dogs. Here are a few stills. Check out Steve Selden’s Churchill Polar Bear Blog for more indepth info, pictures and narrative.

Amazing pictures! Thanks for sharing.
Love those foxes (and, of course, the bears!)! Can’t decide if it’s 2012 or ’13 – can’t do both Katmai AND Churchill. Decisions, decisions …
youve already been to Katmai- see you in churchill.
Awesome photos so thanks for sharing them. We are going to Churchill to see the polar bears in a week and we can not wait. Should be some snow but we will be happy with the bears and other animals. The photo of the snowy owl is outstanding as well as the rest of the photos!
Heading to Churchill in two weeks. Can I ask what size lenses you use for these incredible shots. Planning on bringing the Nikon 200-400 but worry it won’t be big enough. Please advise.
Hi Jayne, I keep it simple when im guiding, just handhold and snap a few here and there. I use a canon 7D which is a half chip, and a fixed 300 4.0. Certainly bring the 2-400, that should be more than ample most of the time. you will get great stuff with it. good luck and send me a link to your shots after the trip!\
