My travelers on my first aurora trip seemed to really like the video compilation I created about their trip, so I did the same thing on my next trip. The video shows
clips of footage on our journey from Winnipeg to Churchill on the Hudson Bay Railway, run by Via Rail. Again, this part of our trip was one of the highlights for everyone because of the amazing dome observation car and the great food. What a classic, relaxing and exciting way to cover 1000 miles of wilderness in the winter. The end of the video shows still images of our 3 days in Churchill spending the days learning about Arctic cultures, and our nights viewing aurora borealis.

For video lovers, here is a really cool short film by one of the travelers, Ed Getley, of our dog sledding trip in Churchill with Dave Daly and Wapusk Adventures.

It was another awesome trip! Here are some still images.

This is shot of the enchanting boreal forest at Pisew Falls, a 45 minute drive from Thompson, Manitoba. I set my aperture to f22, the smallest opening my wide angle lens allows, the create a starburst sun.

Pisew Falls in winter is an awesome sight.

I love to visit the Inukshuk in Churchill on a sunny day, and photograph it as a silhouette. Notice the f22 starburst sun again, and the sundogs- ice crystal rainbows.

Love those gray jays- Canada’s national bird. Friendly, funny and oblivious to frigid weather- just like Canadians!
