Here are a few more images from the last few weeks that I took on the Kodiak-Katmai Grizzlies Expeditions. Even after 12 years of guiding these trips, I still cant get enough of these bears! The fish only recently started to run into the rivers, as they were late all across the state, but the greatest thing about this trip is the variety of behaviors we see when the bears aren’t fishing. When the bears are not engrossed with chasing salmon, they have more time and energy for other activities, such as clam digging, sparring, grazing in the verdant meadows, and even yoga!

Brad, is van last year’s evander? He has the same look but seemed ever so slightly smaller. Need info for next book!
Brad,
In your previous post you told of a bear who was raised on the island in 8 years ago. 8 years ago (2004) my husband and I took the NatHab Katmai Photo trip and took images of a mother and her 2 cubs on the island with the puffin blind. If she is one and the same, I’d be happy to send a picture of her with mom and sibling playing on the beach. Small world!!
