This is a followup to my previous post on the High Asia Habitat Fund. Our team filmed the first project and created this beautiful and informative video- check it out!!!!
The High Asia Habitat Fund’s mission is to protect High Asia’s critical ecosystems through conserving wildlife, restoring wild habitat, and empowering dependent communities toward conservation. Voygr Expeditions launched this organization in April 2020 to provide emergency financial relief for locals in the Indian Himalayas whose livelihoods depend on snow leopard viewing tourism which was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We quickly raised $1700 which was used to pay a team of snow leopard guides and locals to install predator-proof corrals for livestock. We hope to continue and expand this project in the future. Retribution killing of snow leopards due to livestock depredation is one of the greatest threats to this endangered, magical species. Local team leader is Khenrab Phuntsog of the Indian Wildlife Department. Visit https://highasiafund.org for more info, and to support this conservation effort.

The are the ultimate umbrella species of the central Asian High country. When snow leopards are conserved, the entire ecosystem remains intact.
Keep Conserving! Brad Josephs
